About Us

Extra Hands NYC was started by a couple living in central Brooklyn who needed some extra help around the house with a toddler in tow and another on the way.  As two professionals back at work, they wanted to hire someone to handle routine chores around the house -- take some of the regular physical and mental load -- so they could enjoy their downtime with kid(s), community, and the neighborhood.

When searching for this service, they found either cleaning services that didn't handle any of the ordinary chores or errands that need to be handled during the business day, or high end and full-time house managers. Neither met their goal of gaining back a couple hours of time and energy.  

As they looked around the neighborhood -- full of young families with working parents -- they figured they couldn't be alone. Extra Hands NYC works to be that solution.
